Porcelain veneers are one of the most versatile and natural-looking cosmetic treatments that a dentist can offer. While teeth whitening can address discoloration and bonding can correct minor aesthetic issues, dental veneers can completely reshape and brighten an individual tooth or your entire smile. It’s no wonder why celebrities, actors, and everyday people all turn to this cosmetic dentistry treatment to revamp their smiles.

Long-Lasting Benefits

Both porcelain and e.max are highly durable and long-lasting materials. With proper maintenance and oral hygiene, our veneers can easily last 10 or more years before they need to be replaced. We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to maintain and protect your restorations for as long as possible.

Natural-Looking Results

Dr. Babb customizes every dental veneer to be the exact shape, color, and shine that you desire. Our porcelain veneers deliver dramatic results while still blending in with the natural contours and color of your smile. Our office offers porcelain and IPS e.max (lithium disilicate) veneers. Both types are specially designed to match the color and natural reflective qualities of enamel.

Improved Self-Confidence

Numerous studies have found that an attractive smile conveys confidence, intelligence, and beauty. If yellow or discolored teeth leave you looking older than you actually are, a veneer treatment can restore your youthful appearance and self-esteem.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

A porcelain veneer is an ultra-thin shell that Dr. Babb can attach to the surface your tooth to conceal cosmetic concerns like stains, cracks, or chips. The shell is made from porcelain or similar  materials this identical to your natural teeth.

Since there relative simplicity and natural-looking results, the placement procedure, dental veneers have become one of the most popular treatment options in cosmetic dentistry.

What dental conditions do porcelain veneers address?

Dental Veneers Can Cover:

Discolored & Stains

Whitening treatments are great for surface stains, but they will not always resolve intrinsic discoloration underneath the enamel. A dental veneer transforms the visible shade of the tooth to a bright, natural-looking white.

Chipped Tooth

Cracks and Chips

Unfortunately, when you chip or crack a tooth, it won’t heal itself. If the damage is not too extensive, veneers can help. Veneers cover the entire front surface of the tooth, masking any visible chips, breaks, or cracks in your teeth.

gapped Teeth

Gapped Teeth

If you have gaps in the front of your teeth, this may disrupt your smile. Dr. Babb in his Beaufort, SC dental office can conceal the gap permanently, with one or two veneers

Crooked teeth

Misalignment

Veneers can also be used to treat minor misalignment. Dental veneers correct rotated, gapped, or overlapping teeth in just two appointments. However, we may recommend orthodontics for patients with more severe misalignment.

Crowd teeth

Minor Crowding

Minor crowding, a twisted  or jutted tooth can make your teeth appear crooked. Veneers can address minor misalignments.

Are Porcelain Veneers Right for You?

Most of our Beaufort, SC, patients are great candidates for dental veneers. During your consultation, our dentist will explain the finer points of the cosmetic procedure and review your oral health to determine if this treatment is right for you. In order to qualify for porcelain veneers, you should:

Have Sufficient Enamel

When placing veneers, our dentist will need to remove a small surface layer of tooth enamel. Patients must have a healthy and adequate amount of enamel to support the thin porcelain shells. If you have thin or severely worn enamel, we may recommend an alternative form of cosmetic treatment. adequate amount of enathin or severely worn enamel, we may recommend an alternative form of cosmetic treatment.

Commit to Maintenance

While our cosmetic treatments are long-lasting, veneers are rarely permanent and will need to be replaced every decade or so. To keep your smile looking bright and healthy, practice good dental hygiene and attend your regular dental visits. Properly caring for your smile can help extend the life of your veneers.

Have Good Oral Health

Before receiving any cosmetic dentistry treatments, patients will need to have good oral health and be free of any signs of tooth decay or gum disease. If you require dentistry in preparation for porcelain veneers, our dentist can provide any preparatory procedures to restore the health of your smile.

Not Grind Your Teeth

Bruxism is a condition characterized by the clenching and grinding of your teeth. Patients with bruxism can fracture their porcelain veneers. If you suffer from this condition, the dentist may recommend treatment to resolve the problem before placement or an oral appliance for veneer protection.

What to Expect When You Come in for Veneers

We use the latest technology to design the most natural-looking restorations.

Before your dental veneer is placed, our dentist must prep your individual tooth or teeth. We will provide local anesthesia to ensure your comfort while the dentist gently etches away a surface layer of tooth enamel. This provides the space necessary to secure the wafer-thin veneer shell.

Once the enamel is removed, we take impressions of your teeth. Our office utilizes state-of-the-art digital imaging technology to take highly precise scans of your mouth. Using these virtual impressions, we can design the most natural-looking custom restorations.

Our office offers veneers made from porcelain or IPS e.max (lithium disilicate). If you opt for e.max veneers, we can mill your restoration right here in our office and place it during the same appointment. If not, we will send your impressions to our trusted off-site lab for fabrication.

When your veneer has been milled at our office or by the off-site lab, Dr. Babb will attach the shell to the surface of your tooth and examine the overall look and positioning. After carefully adjusting the veneer to achieve the optimal fit, our dentist will permanently attach the shell to your tooth with special dental cement. Once secured, they will feel completely natural and blend in seamlessly with your smile.

How Much Do Veneers Cost?

We are proud to offer very affordable pricing compared to other dentists in our area. Our veneers cost approximately $1,200 to $1,400. The final price will depend on the number of veneers you receive, the type of material you choose, and whether you add other treatments.

We want you to feel that your investment is worth it. Using our CEREC® Primescan technology, we can show you digitized before and after photos of your smile so that you can see your results before you commit to treatment.

Teeth whitening and bonding are less expensive. Why choose porcelain veneers?

The Unbeatable Qualities of Porcelain Veneers

Optimal Aesthetics

Porcelain is widely regarded as the most customizable, natural-looking material for dental restorations. With its superior translucency and light-reflecting properties, porcelain mimics the qualities of natural teeth.

Lasting Quality

Porcelain is stain-resistant, so your dental veneer will never lose its bright white shade. With proper care, a porcelain veneer will look just as beautiful several years into the future as it did the day it was first placed.

Proven Durability

Porcelain is a tried and true dental material that is built to withstand several years of chewing and use. Because of its impressive durability and lifelike aesthetics, porcelain is the most popular material used to craft crowns and veneers.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR DENTAL VENEERS LOOKING GREAT

Practice Proper Oral Hygiene

Although dental veneers are stain-resistant, your actual teeth can still build plaque and decay after treatment. Make sure to brush daily, floss regularly, and use an antiseptic mouthwash. You should essentially brush your veneers as you would your natural teeth, except for taking special care to floss around them gently.

Limit Potential Stains

While porcelain veneers are resistant to stains, your natural teeth are not. It is best to avoid darkly colored foods and drinks to prevent discoloration and keep your teeth a consistent shade of white.

Avoid Excessive Pressure

It is best to avoid biting your nails, opening packages with your teeth, and chewing on ice. Excessive force and pressure can potentially crack or wear down your dental veneers.
