Teeth Whitening

Nobody likes having stained teeth, but over-the-counter whitening products and whitening toothpastes rarely produce great results.

At David P. Babb, DMD, we help patients achieve brighter smiles with professional in-office and at-home teeth whitening.

If you desire whiter teeth, contact our practice in Beaufort, SC, to schedule a tooth whitening session.

Teeth Whitening Really Works

REAL PATIENT RESULTS

We Offer Two Forms of Teeth Whitening

In-Office Whitening with Zoom!

Zoom!® in-office tooth whitening can brighten your smile by up to eight shades in less than an hour. This is a great option for patients who want whiter teeth as soon as possible. Many patients choose a Zoom! teeth whitening session a few days before a big event like a wedding or a job interview.

At-Home Whitening with Opalescence

For a more gradual tooth whitening process, we offer take-home whitening with Opalescence®. We can use a 3-D printer to create whitening trays that fit your teeth perfectly, and we’ll provide instructions so you can achieve the bright smile you want in the comfort of your own home.

The Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening

Effectiveness

The best thing about professional tooth whitening with our Beaufort dentist is that it really works! Zoom! in-office whitening has been clinically proven to whiten teeth by up to eight shades in around 45 minutes, and Opalescence whitening gels can produce noticeably whiter teeth in less than a month.

Safe

When you use over-the-counter whitening products or homemade hydrogen peroxide mixtures, you may experience gum irritation or painful tooth sensitivity. When our dental professionals oversee your whitening treatment, we will be sure to precisely apply the right amount of whitening gel to ensure your comfort.

Rapid results

Over-the-counter whitening products and whitening toothpastes can take weeks or months to only produce incremental improvements. Professional whitening treatment, on the other hand, can create noticeably whiter teeth within a single appointment at our office in Beaufort, SC

Increased Self- Confidence

A more attractive and brighter smile can deliver a positive impact on your social life and career. Professional teeth whitening by David P. Babb, DMD can improve your overall appearance and boost self- confidence. This can be life changing for our South Carolina patients

How does whitening gel work?

The gel used in the Zoom! teeth whitening process contains hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is present in most professional and over-the-counter whitening products. It works well to brighten teeth because it dissolves molecules that cause stains.

What does the light do?

The Zoom! system uses a blue LED lamp because LED light speeds up the chemical reactions that allow hydrogen peroxide to dissolve stains in teeth. The use of LED light is what enables Zoom! teeth whitening to produce such impressive results in such a short amount of time.

Do You Qualify for Teeth Whitening?

Most teens and adults are candidates for professional teeth whitening as long as they are in good oral health. When you first visit David P. Babb, DMD, Dr. Babb will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth and gums to determine what types of dentistry you qualify for.

If we detect issues such as decay, gum disease, or a tooth infection, we must treat those concerns before we proceed with teeth whitening, but don’t worry. We won’t have to send you somewhere else. We offer comprehensive dental care, so we can perform all necessary treatments at our Beaufort office. We even provide advanced services like dental implants and dentures.

What Does Teeth Whitening Cost?

Teeth whitening at David P. Babb, DMD typically costs between $250 and $500. Because the treatment is purely cosmetic, your dental insurance won’t contribute to teeth whitening. However, the results of professional whitening are so impressive that most patients consider it a worthwhile investment.

We Also Offer Porcelain Veneers

Unfortunately, some stains are too deep for even professional tooth whitening. And of course, whitening treatment can’t do anything for a tooth that is chipped or cracked. That’s why Dr. Babb encourages many of his patients interested in cosmetic dentistry to consider porcelain veneers.

A veneer is a thin porcelain shell that Dr. Babb can attach to the surface of an imperfect tooth. Dentists use veneers to obscure chips, cracks, stains, and misshapen teeth. Veneers can even be used to address minor misalignment or gapped teeth.

Beyond veneers, Dr. Babb also offers crowns, bridges, dentures, and dental implants. No matter your dental care needs, the team at David P. Babb, DMD has a solution that can give you a healthy, beautiful smile.
